Enter our Horrible Histories competition by asking your pupils to get creative … and they could win some truly terrific prizes!

The challenge

Imagine your pupils had a time machine. Where would they go and who would they meet?

To be in with a chance of winning the prizes, set imaginations to ‘history’ and ask your pupils to draw a character from the past. It could be a vile Victorian, a terrible Tudor, a rotten Roman … or even a dreadful dinosaur! The most horribly historic picture will win!


How to enter

Ask your pupils to fill in their name, age and school address on their completed entry form. Then send your school’s entries to: Horrible Histories Competition, Scholastic Book Fairs, Unit 89E Lagan Road, Dublin Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, Dublin 11. Closing date is 30th June 2012.

We cannot accept entries by email, but entries do not have to be submitted on the official entry form – any material is acceptable and originality is encouraged!


Terms and conditions

1. No purchase necessary to enter the competition. 2. Competition open to children aged 0-13 and closed to employees of the Promoter or anyone else connected with the promotions. 3. Entries must be received by 30th June 2012. 4. No cash alternative will be offered to prizes. 5. The Scholastic Book Fairs team will choose one winning entry. The decision of the Scholastic Book Fairs team is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 6. The prize for the winning child consists of a Nintendo DS and a Horrible Histories: Ruthless Romans game, four signed copies of Horrible Histories books, a Horrible Histories notebook (x2), magnet and keyring and a Horrible Histories series 1 DVD. Prizes may differ from images shown. 7. The winner will be notified of their prize by 21st September 2012. 8. Address for entry is: Horrible Histories Competition, Scholastic Book Fairs, Unit 89E Lagan Road, Dublin Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, Dublin 11. For details of the winner, send a S.A.E. marked Horrible Histories Competition to Scholastic Book Fairs, Unit 89E Lagan Road, Dublin Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, at least one week after the winners’ notification date. 11. No responsibility will be taken for entries that are damaged, illegible, incomplete, lost or delayed in the post or otherwise fail to reach the Promoter by the closing date. Entry forms will not be returned to entrants. 12. The Promoter reserves the right to display entries in promotional material and on the website. 13. The Promoter will only use entrants’ personal information in connection with this competition. All personal details will be destroyed once the winners are announced. 14. It is a condition of entry that all entrants agree to be bound by these rules and are asked to retain a copy of these rules for any future reference.
