Ready-made posts for your Book Fair
Social media is a great way to promote your Book Fair and to make that as easy as possible, we’ve put together a list of posts that you can copy and paste onto your own school accounts.
You can post about your Book Fair before, during and after your Book Fair.
Before your Book Fair
This is the most important time to post about your Book Fair and there are two main types of posts to share at this time: informative posts and exciting posts.
Informative posts
These let everyone know important details about your Book Fair such as where it is, when it will open and how long it will be open for. You should post these repeatedly for a few weeks before your Book Fair. Try these posts:

Our Scholastic Book Fair is nearly here! It will open at insert time on insert day so come along to find the best new books and help to earn free books for our library!
Exciting posts
These posts build a buzz around your Book Fair and get everyone excited for its arrival. This is the time to be talking about the books that are coming, sharing your Book Fair goals and counting down until the day it arrives! Try these posts:
Do you want the best new children’s books? They’re coming to our school soon! Join us at insert time in insert place and find your next favourite read.
The posters are up and it can mean only one thing: the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to insert school name! It’ll be arriving at date so make sure you join us for this celebration of reading!
We’ve set our goal! This Book Fair we’re aiming to earn insert amount. Every book you buy supports our school and brings more free books to our pupils!
You might also like to feature specific books coming to your Book Fair.
If you’re running a competition, now is a great time to shout about it on social media. Don’t forget you can get Book Fair vouchers for your winners in your resource pack.
Images to include with these posts
Some great images to include are:- Book Fair posters. You can either take pictures of your Book Fair posters up around your school or screenshot the editable posters available here. These are great because they show the books on the Fair and let you write on when and where your Fair will be.
- The goal chart. This is a fantastic way to get your pupils excited about the Book Fair. Who doesn’t love a challenge? You will get one in your Book Fair kit but you can download more here.
- Our Book Fair social images. You can download these here. You can either use one without the white box or add text into the white box on paint such as when your Fair will open. These are nice images to include whenever you post. Try to always use an image, even if it’s not necessary as it gets more attention that way.
During your Book Fair
These posts are all about making your Book Fair as exciting as possible. Make sure no one misses out by trying these posts:

It’s the last few days of your Book Fair! You have until insert date to make your purchases. We have insert value to go to meet our goal!
There are lots of things you can do at this time. You might like to post about each teacher’s favourite book, interview students about why they’re picking a specific book or take lots of photos of your Book Fair, particularly if you’ve decorated or thrown a non-uniform day!

Some great images to include are:- Pictures of your Book Fair. The books! The cases! The children getting excited! They all make fantastic pictures and we love seeing them. More importantly, so do parents so make sure you share lots of photos.

After your Book Fair
The Book Fair fun doesn’t have to stop when your Book Fair ends. Parents love to hear about what the money they spend at the Fair means for the school. Try these posts:
Thank you to everyone who bought books at our Book Fair. We raised insert total which means we have earned insert Rewards worth of free books for our school!
They’re in! All of the free books we earned in our Book Fair have arrived and are in the library for you to read. Come find your new favourite book!
You can promote reading after your Book Fair by getting pupils to write book reviews of their purchases our creative writing pieces inspired by them. Your Book Fair is a great opportunity to get pupils excited about reading and that excitement doesn’t have to end when your Book Fair does!
Images to include with these posts
Some great images to include are:- Pictures of your Book Fair. Show parents how successful your Book Fair was with lots of pictures of students enjoying the Fair.
- Pictures of your Rewards purchases. Sometimes it’s hard to visualise just how many free books can be earned with a Book Fair so share pictures of your stack of books. It also means parents and students know which books are now available at your school, including all the latest releases and exclusive books only available at your Fair!
